Green Stripe™ Heater Hose With abrasion resistant, heavy-duty construction, Gates Green Stripe™ Heavy-Duty Heater Hoses provide the best cost-per-mile economics for your truck, bus, and off-road equipment heater systems. The advanced EPDM tube, cover and reinforcement withstand high under-hood and coolant temperatures, designed and tested for extended use without cracking or hardening. Install your Green Stripe™ Heater hose with PowerGrip™ SB clamps for a maintenance-free connection. Exceeds SAE 20R1 Type EC (Class D-1 Tube, and cover, Standard Wall). Engineered with materials to resist electrochemical degradation. Temperature Range: -40°C to +125°C (-40°F to +257°F).
Eliminating ECD. When creating our Green Stripe™ heater hoses, we wanted to tackle the leading cause of hose failure: electrochemical degradation, or ECD. This occurs when the hose, hydraulic fluid, and engine/radiator fittings form a galvanic cell or "battery," creating a chemical reaction that allows micro-cracks to form in the hose tube. Fluid seeps into these cracks or striations and breaks down the reinforcement, leading to hose failure and, ultimately, roadside breakdowns. We worked to engineer our EPDM heater hose material compound with superior electrochemical resistance, so your Gates® hoses will last longer and keep your engine systems running stronger.
